Abstract
We have designed a spectroscopic system for the measurement of the spectral emissivities at wavelengths between 1 μm and 16 μm of solid surfaces at temperatures from 1000 K to 1500 K. As reference infra-red radiator we have designed a blackbody whose emissivity agrees within 1% with commercial standards. We have applied our system to measure the spectral emissivities and the characteristics of blackbodies and various commercial infrared radiators.
