The use of quasi-optical Vlasov converters to produce
directly Gaussian output beams from TEo3 waveguide
modes has been studied at 70 GHz. The farfield
measurements presented here of various types
of these converters, with and without their parabolic
mirrors, indicate inherent efficiency limitations
in the simplistic design originally proposed.
