Abstract
the splitting properties of the polarization beam splitter (PBS) have been numerically studied using the finite difference time domain method. Based on the analysis of relationship between the self-collimating transmission frequency and radius of air hole for two-dimensional square lattice in photonic crystals, a self-collimating polarization beam splitter is designed. Low-loss transmission, wide angle bending and high splitting ratio can be realized in this structure.
