Abstract
Results of studies on variations of an absorption coefficient (a) versus time for LiF monocrystals with F2+ color centers, created by 60 Co y-irradiation, at temperatures T1 = 300K, T2 = 250K and T3 = 200K are presented. A LiF crystal with F2+ color centers was applied as a passive modulator of a ruby laser resonator. A giant-pulse generation with a pulse duration of 50 ns was obtained.
