Abstract
The manipulation of small objects by optical force has been applied in a wide variety of research fields such as biology, photochemistry, and optomechanics. These techniques have been developed mainly by designing the irradiated light. For example, the tightly focused laser beam, optical vortex, and near-field light are used. On the other hand, luminescence also occurs by irradiated light, which results in optical force. In this contribution, we propose an unconventional type of optical force, i.e., the luminescence-induced optical force (LiOF). Designing the dielectric environment surrounding the materials, the LiOF can be effectively generated. We also demonstrate that LiOF autonomously drives the motion of the material. Our results will provide new insights into developing unconventional optomechanics.
