Abstract
In order to study the factors that affect the following distance under the condition of the curve following scenario, based on the driving simulator, the curve of different radius was constructed, and the speeds of the lead vehicle were set. Thirteen drivers were selected for testing. Carry out parametric analysis of the following distance. The experiment designed four curve radiuses of 125m, 250m, 400m and 650m, and three following speeds of 60km/h, 80km/h and 100km/h. The vehicle finally reached a stable following state. The results showed that the curve radius and lead vehicle speed have a significant effect on the following distance, and there is no interaction between the two factors. It also gives the average value of the following distances for different curve radius and different following speeds.
