Abstract
Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) demagnetization failure makes it unable to be used in high reliability applications if it cannot be detected in the early stage. To solve this issue, this paper combines Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) and empirical wavelet transform (EWT) to extract fault feature and diagnose PMSM demagnetization faults and analyzed the feasibility of this method. The simulation results prove that the EWT-HHT method can be effectively diagnose demagnetization failure of PMSM.
