Abstract
Aiming at the heavy clutters background suppression in single frame infrared image containing small targets, a fast rolling guided filtering based background suppression method has been proposed. Firstly, the fast rolling guided filtering is used to smooth the image and construct data cube at different smoothing scales. Then, the complex background is suppressed and the dim and small target is enhanced by Mahalanobis distance algorithm. Compared with several classical background suppression methods, the experiment results show that the performance of proposed method is superior to other methods both in aspects of subjective visual and objective evaluation index.
