Abstract
A amplification model of Er/Yb co-doped fiber amplifiers (EYDFAs), considering Er-bands amplified spontaneous emission (ASE), is proposed to optimize the parameters of EYDFAs in space applications. The impact of pump wavelength, fiber length, and input signal power on the performance of EYDFAs are investigated numerically.
