Abstract

Surgery, chemotherapy, and photodynamic therapy have historically been the commonly applied in case of treating pancreatic cancer. Recently, nanoparticle technology as a novel approach is quite successful and focused more on this field as well. Few people with pancreatic cancer survive for more than five years due to its malignancy with unsatisfying prognosis. Few anti-pancreatic cancer treatments based on nanoparticles are currently approved, and it is hard to accurately control drug release or test the toxicity of nanoparticles in vivo. In light of the impacts of siRNA and miRNA in treating pancreatic cancer, this article explores the specific applications of nanoparticles in the disease. It also discusses the operation of the nano drug delivery system with examples and the current challenges and prospects of nanoparticles in treating pancreatic cancer. Thus, this review introduces nanoparticle technology as a promising approach for the novel therapy of pancreatic cancer.
