Abstract
This paper mainly focuses on the cylindricity estimation based on the minimum zone cylinder (MZC) method in three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system. A simple search method is proposed by projecting coaxial cylinders vertically into X-Y plane to generate two concentric circles, and then the job of cylindricity error estimation is transformed into roundness error estimation to solve minimum zone circle (MZCI) model solution. A search circle model is employed to determine the two concentric circles of MZCI. To verify the performance of the proposed method, simulation experiments and comparison experiments are implemented. The results demonstrated that the proposed method is effective, reliable and meet the requirement of cylindricity estimation.
