Abstract
Evaluation of traffic load is an important aspect of road infrastructure analysis and planning in every country. It also has significance in the context of road safety, societal mobility design, and economic development. Therefore, the growth of global road traffic poses challenges in many areas, necessitating continuous analysis, adaptation of road infrastructure, countermeasures against air pollution, increased emissions, and congestion, which is the origin of this article. Thus, the aim of this article is to present issues related to traffic measurement using the example of one European country, namely Poland, with a particular focus on the measurement methods used and their evaluation. The research problem adopted is the question of whether the current measurements are sufficient and whether the results obtained by different methods are comparable. Additionally, the paper includes an analysis and evaluation of the possibilities of using such results in traffic management processes and proposes recommendations and guidelines for further necessary actions and measures to improve road conditions.
