Abstract
Proxy cache located at base station is helpful for improving performance of wireless multimedia streaming. In this paper we propose a cooperative proxy cache architecture, MobileCache, for cell-based wireless environment. The proxies cooperate to provide seamless streaming for wireless client even when the client crosses the cell boundary. In order to improve the efficiency for MobileCache, we develop a cache cooperation management scheme, including cache replacement, cache migration and cache replication, which maximize the revenue for MobileCache. Simulation results confirm that, by employing the cache cooperation management, MobileCache achieves higher performance than other cache management schemes.
