1 November 2001 Simple method of Brewster angle measurement for the determination of refractive indices in transparent biaxial crystal

A new approach is reported for the measurement of Brewster angles in transparent biaxial crystals. The Brewster angles for potassium hydrogen phthalate (KAP) single crystal are also calculated from available refractive index data by our method. The measured values agree well with the calculated values, confirming our theory. The measured values of the Brewster angles of KAP are 60°03'± 5' and 58°30'± 5'.
