In this paper we describe likely consequences of bioaerosol attacks, and we discuss the role of early warning systems to
enable effective responses that minimize those consequences. We address the capabilities of currently available
biological detection technologies to provide effective early warning protection. Finally, we describe a deployable
networked array of point detectors for early warning protection, with built-in array processing and alarm suppression
algorithms that minimize false positive detections.
