Aiming at the simultaneous existence of SBS effect and dynamic birefringence in the single-mode fiber in the BOTDA system, a Jones matrix polarization vector model based on the BOTDA system optical path is established. By means of this model, the relationship between Stokes light and vibration signals was simulated and analyzed, and an experimental system for BOTDA vibration signal monitoring combined with polarization detection was built. It was verified that the BOTDA system could monitor vibration signals along the optical fiber while detecting temperature and strain. The research in this paper provides a reference for the BOTDA’s power cable application.
