Abstract
In recent years, several researchers have examined the problem of autonomous navigation of pathways. A fundamental problem that remains is the efficient extraction of the boundary information. In this paper a method is presented for extracting road boundaries in one pass of an image. This method uses the statistical information regarding the intensity levels present in the image along with some geometrical constraints concerning the road.
