The U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) has recently developed an essential research area to research and develop artificially intelligent agents (heterogeneous & distributed) that rapidly learn, adapt, reason & act in contested, austere & congested environments. This talk will focus on the AI&ML research challenges and gaps identified by ARL and highlight some of the recent innovations by ARL researchers.
