Abstract
The behavior of the average Umov-Poynting vector of vortex laser beams propagating in the atmosphere under conditions of strong optical turbulence has been studied. An asymptotic expression is obtained for the radial and azimuthal components of the average flux vector of energy density. The criterion of the transition of the vortex beam into the regime of strong optical turbulence, which is constructed on the basis of the obtained streamline equation, is discussed.
