Abstract
In China, highways have entered a period of smooth construction, and the maintenance and management of existing pavements will become the new focus of transportation development in the next phase. Appropriate maintenance management decisions for highways will create significant economic and social benefits. This paper selects the ranking method of incremental benefit and cost ratio (IBC) to optimize the maintenance decision. Finally, the paper chooses the pavement maintenance data in Brampton, Canada as case study to validate the feasibility of the method. It turns out that ranking method of incremental benefit and cost ratio can solve the problem of strategies optimization for large and complex road network and realize the intelligent decision-making of maintenance management, which meets the requirements and goals of the transportation agencies, pavement owners and users.
