Abstract
Imaging through water-air Snell's window from underwater involves several complicated physical processes hard to model. In this paper, a simplified imaging model is proposed. In this imaging model, CIE sky model is used to calculate the sky background radiance, directional ocean wave spectrum is used to model random ocean surface, raytracing is used to form the refraction equation, and a simplified model based on RTE is used to calculate underwater light scattering and absorption. Simulated data using the proposed imaging model are presented.
