Abstract
Although there is abundant geothermal energy in deep reservoirs, it is still a challenge to effectively extract the heat from hot dry rock (HDR) rather than the geofluid. In this research, a 800 m pipe is added to the 2000 m deep borehole heat exchangers (DBHE) to form a novel three-layer DBHE system. Through different operation modes, this system can realize heat extraction from the bottom of the well in winter and heat storage from the middle of the well in summer. Therefore, it is easy to use deep geothermal energy to achieve heating in winter and cooling in summer. For five consecutive years of numerical simulation results, this system can provide 191.6, 187.5, 185.2, 183.7 and 182.2 kW of heating in winter. On this basis, the cooling capacity of the system in summer is 49.5, 48.5, 48.2, 48.0 and 47.9 kW. In addition, cooling in summer can also improve the heating capacity of the subsequent winter by 1.4%-2.5% in five years. The energy storage efficiency also increases from 5.6% to 9.4%.
