Abstract
Birds play an important role in the ecosystem. Using machine automatic recognition of bird species can be used to monitor bird activities, help researchers understand bird behavior, and have important significance for the protection of wild resources and scientific research of bird species. This paper designs a method for automatic recognition of bird species based on deep learning. We extract image features based on pre-trained EfficientNet-B0 and use MLP for classification. Our method achieves an accuracy of 87.3% on the validation set, which exceeds human recognition accuracy for complex bird species.
