Abstract
We have developed a half-height, 90 mm magneto-optical disk drive with composite continuous servo format, using a digital servo system with a single Digital Signal Processor (DSP). The drive has a rotational speed of 3600 rpm and an average access time of 50 msec with a average rotational latency. The use of DSP makes it possible to reduce the size of circuitry.
