Abstract
In a related paper, the nine-intersection model of Egenhofer and Herring was interpreted for vector maps with a planar graph structure. The model was then used to derive the relevant topologic relationships between elementary terrain feature types (point, line, area) that are represented in a vector map. Here, we extend this by deriving the topologic relationships between the geometric primitives arc and node which have been used to describe the geometry of features in vector maps. We then show the application of the topologic relationships in monitoring and enforcing spatial consistency in vector maps.
