Abstract
The paper has provided an optoelectronic method that used a four-quad detector to detect the property of common axis of active-following axis. On the basis of careful consideration, the paper determines the working principle and designs the mathematical model of the whole system. It is shown by computer simulation that this method is feasible. Compared to conventional mechanic micrometer method, it has the properties of reliability, precision and accuracy.
