Abstract
Mode locked Ti:Sapphire laser represent an important source of femtosecond pulses. In particular bidirectional ring lasers are useful tools for some measurements, such as: rotation sensors, and nonreciprocal optical effects. We have developed a numerical model to calculate the stability of a ring laser. We use this method to design bidirectional Kerr Lens Mode (KLM) Locked Ti:Sapphire laser. As a first step, in this work we test the accuracy of our model by comparing it with a unidirectional KLM locked Ti:Sapphire ring laser, which we designed and built in our laboratory.
