Abstract
Optical networks are the most deployed networks at the present time. But speed increasing brings new issues and problems to be solved. Optical networks consist of fibers, which transfer data between two peers. In case of some quality impairment some actions must take place to guarantee transfer quality. For this reason implemented signalisation and protocols must take into account these conditions and in case of necessity handle these issues. This article deals with basic signalisation protocols and its possible modifications.
