Putting the System Together
Author Affiliations +
Abstract
Prof. Smythe is putting together his adaptive optics system. He has decided on a wavefront sensor and a deformable mirror and has designed the reconstructor. He draws an optical layout of his system and builds all the components he needs. He has to worry about pupil conjugates and f‐numbers and collimation and all those sorts of things, but his system is ready. He learns that there are many more complicated ways to build an adaptive optics system, such as multiconjugate systems and laser tomography systems, but he’s saving for retirement.
