1 March 1995 Laser-based fundus camera for infrared angiography

Abstract
A laser diode was integrated in a fundus camera to provide narrowband IR illumination for indocyanine green angiography. Carefully designed filter characteristics that made the camera efficient are discussed and compared to a typical non-laser-based fundus camera. The performance of the camera integrated into a digital imaging system was assessed optically and clinically. The system proved to be well suited for the diagnosis of choroidal disease, such as neovascularizations that are difficult to diagnose otherwise.
