Two multisensor multitarget track initiation techniques are proposed. One is the multisensor Hough transform and the other is the multisensor logic-based method. Both are extensions of their single sensor versions. Since a track initiator is basically a detector, the receiver operating characteristic (ROC), which is a measure of target track detection probability versus false track probability, is used to evaluate the performance of these multisensor track initiation techniques. Simulated and real life multiple radar data are used to evaluate performance. Results show that both multisensor track initiators perform well in heavy clutter environments, and the multisensor logic-based track initiator has better performance than the multisensor Hough transform method for maneuvering targets.
