In previous work,1 we introduced the idea of using moment patterns (MPs) in the radon space (RS) for recognition and classification of multidimensional (m-D) objects from their projections. In 2-D, for example, an MP of order k in the RS is the set of moments (of order k) associated with the (1-D) projections of an image. The 1-D MPs can be rendered invariant to geometric transformations of the object within the RS.
