Profile Summary

David Kessler is a senior optical physicist and designer with extensive experience in research and development in the area of advanced optical systems. He is proficient in aberrations theory, physical optics, laser sciences, optical systems architecture and design, major optical CADs, and IP generation and protection.
David has a distinguished record of 85 US patents and 23 published papers. In addition he holds foreign patents and has given numerous presentations at professional meetings.
After earning his Master of Sciences degree, in Electro-optics, with distinction, from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, he directed for three years a team, which developed innovative laser guiding systems for the Israeli Military Industries.
Following his Ph.D. degree from the Optical Sciences Center at the University of Arizona, he joined the Eastman Kodak Company where he started and managed an advanced optical systems design group within Kodak Research Labs. As a Senior Research Associate at Kodak, he was considered the top technical person in the field of optical systems design and technologies in the company. David worked for two years on connecting Kodak business and research to the extensive Israeli high tech industry. He was a visiting professor while on two sabbaticals at Tel Aviv University.
David had Kodak-wide impact resulting in highly innovative and successful products in photofinishing labs, hospitals, commercial offset printing and the movie industry. In addition, he developed imaging systems, cameras, scanners, LCD and OLED displays, projection systems, ophthalmic and optical dental systems.
David was awarded the title “Distinguished Inventor” by Kodak CTO. He was appointed in 1995 to the Kodak Research Council, a group of the company's 50 top scientists. He won the prestigious “Team Achievement Award” for three different projects.
David received the Primetime Emmy award 1997 from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for the Kodak Spirit Datacine . David i
