When transposed Benes topology to integrated photonic switches, path-dependent power variation poses a significant challenge to link power penalty and the receiver sensitivity. A routing algorithm that combines the famous looping algorithm and the physical layer link power budget will abandon abnormal connections of the path. The first-order crosstalk’s minimum variance (R2 ) is employed. Four connections are enabled when the parameter in power (R2 ) is less than one and the number of disabled connections is 12. When the variance in power (R2 ) reaches 9, the disabled connections become 40, and the good 24 connections are selected. One can see that the introduction of the micro-ring resonator and power-aware path selection routing algorithm reduces the power budget and receiver sensitivity by 6.28dB and 3.0dB, respectively. The path selection model that eliminates abnormal connections is more stable and is suitable for all operating wavelengths.
